An Update from Morning Walk: Looking Forward to the March for Life 2020

Dear Readers,

It has been a year since Morning Walk launched the Morning Walk Website. For those of you who don’t know, Morning Walk is a community of young traditional Christians from all three branches – Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. The group makes it possible for devout believers to acquire true and close friends who are interested in theological discussions and a strong relationship with Christ. We make an effort to go in depth intellectually, encouraging debate about controversial and sensitive issues. Despite the differences in theological beliefs within the group, we unite in our effort to promote the Gospel and to collectively follow, honor, and love Jesus Christ.

We have had a lot of fun learning, sharing, and sharpening one another (Proverbs 27:17) to grow closer to God. In 2019, two new groups joined Morning Walk: one based in Indianapolis, and another made up of students from McGill University and Emory University. We also hosted a Catholic-Orthodox retreat made up of members from the NIKA and Newman houses at the University of Illinois, Champaign.

Thank you for following our website and for giving your attention to our thoughts along the way.

Morning Walk began with walks… in the morning. Daniel and Zach (occasionally accompanied by their mutual friend Andre) would discuss their theological differences and get to know one another better. This high school friendship became a group on Skype called the “Morning Walk Group,” where many of the most passionate Christians of the Online High School would gather to talk to one another. Most of the people in the group continued to grow close after high school and develop crazy ideas with one another.

In 2018, we organized our first trip of college students to the March for Life in Washington, DC, an experience that reminded us of the pain that women and children suffer in a world where abortion is commonplace. The March motivated us to further bear the responsibility of eradicating the epidemic of abortion. This past year we arranged another trip to the March for Life that also went very well. For most of our group, it was their first trip to the March! Looking forward to the future, we are arranging our third trip to the March for Life in DC, and our first to the Walk for Life in San Francisco!

Morning Walk is a grass roots organization. We do everything we can to make sure our funds are spent in a responsible and efficient manner. To support our events, we ask that you consider making any contributions you feel able to make. If you can give even $5, in one gift or monthly, you will be contributing to a wonderful purpose.

Most importantly, we ask for your prayers, that God will end all motivation for the killing of the unborn and heal the hurt that has been done across the generations. And, in line with Morning Walk’s purpose, we ask for your prayers for God to continue His faithful work in establishing young Christian communities that find their strength in Him.

The Team at Morning Walk
